I'd suggest that this page should be changed to "Gary Payton (astronaut)". There's a far better-known Gary Payton, totally unrelated to the astronaut, who has been one of the NBA's top guards for better than a decade. The NBA's Gary Payton has spent most of his career with the Seattle SuperSonics, but now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.
This is a situation that obviously calls for a disambiguation.
How about moving this to Gary E payton and setting up a disambig here? Theon
I know it won't make any difference but I must register my outrage. This is bullshit. Some basketball player gets preference over an astronaut. This is shameful and should be reversed. I see the sequence of paper cuts above and I don't see anyone exhibiting pride or happiness. Fuck marketing and focus groups, if astronauts come second to basketball players then Bush has won. 83.70.244.5907:09, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
